"A Bad Day For Voodoo"

Since last time when Tyler saw that Adam had a voodoo doll of him Kelly started to be surprised that voodoo dolls exist. Later they tried to go to the shop to try to get the voodoo doll to deactivate. They had to drive in a dangerous part of a town to get to the shop. Suddenly a starnger walks up to then and asks for change but Tyler droped it. Then suddenly this guy put a gun to them and told them to get out of the car and to leave there cell phones in there. Tyler decides to chase the guy who stole the car because they had the voodoo doll in the trunk. While Tyler was chasing him the rober was trying to shoot Tyler but he missed.

The conflict here is reqlly obviouse that they got there car stolen. They also got there cell phones stolen as well. The other conflict would be that the rober has the voodoo doll now and Tyler could die any second. I find this book really interesting because its fantasy but yet its fiction. The fantasy part would be the fact about voodoo dolla actually working but the robing a car can actually happen in real life.

Since from the last blog Tyler tells Kelly everything about the voodoo doll. At first she doesn't believe it but she goes along with it. Later after a while Adam calls Tyler back and tells him to meat him at Trollen Park. Once they get to the park Adam starts asking for the doll but Tyler and Kelly decided to leave the doll at the house. Adam showed them a new voodoo doll that represented Tyler incase Tyler called the police then Adam would use the doll on him. The thing is that Tyler wasn't going to call the cops in the first place but Adam didn't understand that. They though it was fake so Adam flicked the doll in the stomach and Tyler started coughing and holding his stomach while rolling on the floor. 

An aha moment happened during this. I would think that Adam wouldn't buy another voodoo doll after what happened with the first. I think he was a complete idiot for doing this because now he's putting his friends life in risk.

"A Bad Day For Voodoo"

Since I left off Tyler grabed the voodoo doll during his History class and poked the left leg with a pin. Later Mr. Click's leg shoots off his leg and starts bleeding everywhere. Kelley imidetly goes up to Mr. Click and asks for a shirt and a ruler. Tyler gave Kelley his shirt and then she used it unto Mr. Click's stump to try to stop the bleeding. After that the ambulence and police came and started to question the students on what happened. Kelley didn't know anything about the voodoo doll so she was really confused on how that happened. After Kelley droped Tyler and Adam at Tylers house Tyler and Adam started to talk about what happened. Adam wanted to go return the doll but Tyler didn't trust him to take it. Tyler and Adam got into a fight because Adam was acting aggressive because he wanted to take the doll back. Tyler didn't trust Adam because he thinks that he might do something stupid again and make things worse. When they got into the physical fight they didn't realize that the dolls head was twisted back. They didn't realize this until they saw Mr. Click on the news that he passed away from a neck injury.

The conflicked so far would be that they just killed Mr. Click on accident. Also that they made his leg shoot off his body during class. They might even devasted his family of he had one. 

"A Bad Day For Voodoo"

In the book A Bad Day For Voodoo the main character is Tyler and he is a good student who gets A’s and B’s on his report card. Tyler was studying for a history test for Mr. Click’s class and he even said no to hanging out or studying with his girlfriend named Kelley. Tyler studied that hole week for this test and when he finally took it he got an F. When Tyler went to go talk to Mr. Click he said it was because he cheated on the test, but Tyler didn’t cheat. Donnie was the one who was sitting behind Tyler and had the same answers as him but Donnie didn’t admit nothing and Mr. Click wont let Tyler redo his test. When Adam Tyler’s friend heard of this he spend $80 and gave a pint of his blood to the lady from a shop for a voodoo doll. Tyler didn’t really believe in this but if you want to find out if this voodoo doll actually worked then you have to wait until the next blog.

I would say there was a Tough Question in this book when Adam gave Tyler the voodoo doll. It was either he can use it to get his revenge or just not use it at all because he doesn’t believe in this. In the book it says “‘I can’t believe you!’ I said, silently vowing that in college i’d find friends who were less disarranged. ‘ How could you possibly think this was real?’ I asked, shaking the doll.” This shows that he didn’t believe in this but later in the book it says that Adam told him to just try it once and he wan’t sure if he should actually do it. In the book it says “I wished that I could just lie about it  (“pinned it. Nothin’.”) but Adam sat right next to me.” This shows that he took the decision that he’s going to use it but yet doesn’t really want to.

Native Americans

Native Americans were marginalized when Carlisle wanted to help the Indians but also get rid of what makes them Indians. In the article it says that Carlisle used this phrase "Kill the Indian, save the man." This shows how they were feeling that people don't really care about them because they're trying to change there culture. Also the parents were later forced to make there child go with Carlisle and before that it would be an option. This might have made them feel like they didn't really have control over there own children and that the whites were taking control over them.

Shanice wants people to know about her because she want people to know not all Indians are the stereo types. People mostly think that Indians wear the weird cloths and that they were feathers and live in tipis but actually they live in normal homes and wear normal cloths. Shanice even doesn't really mind telling people that they do wear the traditional cloths and stuff but only on special events.

"The Wrap-Up List"

So far since last time Sylvester and Gabriela got together because Sylvester wanted to talk to her. When she got there Sylvester told her that he was departing by the same Death that Gabriela has. The Death was Hercule, and he told her that the only people who knew about this was his father and her. Sylvester told her that he's departing on the day the fight was going to happen. The fight is when both the football teams fight after the big game at night. Once Sylvester departed Gabriela and Iris thought of a crazy plan of summoning Hercule. They did that two days before it was her time to depart and once they caught Hercule he couldn't leave because once he gets near the person he's going to depart he has to stay there until that day. When the departure day finally came he made all the wishes on Gabriela's wrap up list happen except one, her first kiss with Sylvester. Finally when she was taken by Hercule she saw Sylvester there and it was awkward because they were both naked. When Gabriela realized her grandfather Gonzalo gave his pardon away to a family member she had a choice of giving it away or keeping it. She ended up doing the selfish thing and used the pardon herself and left Sylvester to die. Just kidding, Gabriela gave the pardon to Sylvester which made her earn her own pardon.

I would say the theme of this book would be that you shouldn't be selfish. If she did use the pardon for her self then she wouldn't be able to get her first kiss with Sylvester. For all that we know if she decided to use Gonzalo's pardon, Hercule might have not let her because it might have bin a test.

"The Wrap-Up List"

So far in the book Iris is helping Gabriela with the hints that Death sent her. Gabriela had to make a wrap up list with stuff that she wants to happen, and on her wished are a first kiss for Iris, first kiss for Raahi, first kiss for Sarena, a first kiss for her from Sylvester, and finally a pardon. She found out on of them which was a note that was from Sylvester and it said to meet her at a place so she can have her first kiss. In her school they were also talking about how the people who got picked to fight in the war but pack up there things soon and unfortunately one of her friends was picked. Raahi was the one who was picked and he doesn't want to go but he has to.

I feel that the genre is fiction but some stuff of the book can be real. The stuff that I find is fiction would be that Death send departure letters to people because that doesn't happen here in real life. The parts that I find realistic would be that once you're old enough and there a war you can be drafted so you can fight in the war. Also that once you're 18 and older you can volunteer to join the army to help fight the war.
